The Olympus Pen E.Zuiko 25mm f/4 Auto-W is an ultra-compact, manual-focus wide-angle lens designed for the half-frame Olympus Pen F SLR system.
The 25mm focal length in half-frame is approximately 35mm on a standard 35mm SLR.
Key Features
- Optical Construction: 5 elements in 5 groups. It yields high contrast and is celebrated for its tiny, pancake-style footprint.
- Field of View: Roughly a 35mm equivalent in standard 35mm film format, making it highly versatile for street photography and environmental portraits.
- Aperture: Features a 5-blade manual diaphragm that stops down to f/22. Later versions ("Auto-W") also featured exposure number (EV) scales tailored to the Pen FT's metering system.
- Close Focusing: Features a very close minimum focusing distance of 0.25m (about 9.8 inches), allowing for dramatic, intimate wide-angle compositions.
- Build: Designed with a classic, tactile all-metal barrel consistent with the ultra-portable aesthetic of the Pen F camera series.
